Texas Compassionate Use Program

The Texas Department of Public Safety has begun accepting applications for medical marijuana dispensing organization licenses. Applicants must submit their Compassionate Use Program licensing application by 5:00 PM central standard time on November 1st, 2019. In order for the application to be considered complete, there are various items that must be submitted with the application, including proof of general liability insurance with the following limits:

• $1,000,000 each occurrence;
• $2,000,000 General Aggregate limit; and
• $1,000,000 Product Liability

The number of applicants that will be conditionally approved is based on the ability of those applicants to meet the anticipated increased demand of medical marijuana. The State has not released any details on how much they are anticipating or how many applicants it may take to meet that need.
